1. Introduction

TaskGo ("we," "us," or "our") operates an online platform that connects clients ("Clients") with independent service providers ("Providers") for services including cleaning, childcare, elderly care, and personal care.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Types of Information We Collect

A. Personal Information

We collect information that identifies you, including:

  • Identity Data: Full name, date of birth, and gender.
  • Contact Data: Email address, phone number, and physical service address.
  • Financial Data: Payment card details (processed via secure third-party gateways) and bank details for Providers.
  • Verification Data: Government-issued IDs, Working with Children Checks (WWCC), National Police Checks, and NDIS Worker Screening results.

B. Sensitive Information (High Protection)

In the context of providing elderly and personal care, we may collect:

  • Health information (e.g., mobility requirements, allergies, or specific medical conditions).
  • Care requirements and preferences.

Note: We only collect sensitive information with your explicit consent and where it is reasonably necessary to facilitate the service.

C. Technical Data

3. How We Collect Information

  • Direct Interaction: Information you provide when creating an account, booking a service, or applying as a Provider.
  • Automated Technologies: Cookies and tracking pixels when you interact with our website or app.
  • Third Parties: Background check agencies, identity verification services, or NDIS portals.

4. Use of Information

TaskGo uses your data to:

  • Facilitate Connections: Matching Clients with the most suitable Providers.
  • Safety & Security: Verifying the credentials of Providers to ensure the safety of children and the elderly.
  • Communication: Sending booking confirmations, service reminders, and platform updates.
  • Compliance: Meeting legal obligations under Australian law, including tax and NDIS reporting.

5. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell your data. We disclose information only as necessary:

  • Between Users: Sharing the Client's address and care requirements with the chosen Provider; sharing the Provider's credentials and profile with the Client.
  • Service Providers: Third-party vendors who provide IT support, payment processing, and background checks.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, such as a court order or request from a government agency (e.g., Fair Work Ombudsman or the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission).

6. Storage and Data Security

  • Security Measures: We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for data in transit and secure server environments for data at rest.
  • Health Data: Sensitive health information is restricted to authorized personnel and the specific Provider assigned to your care.
  • Data Breach Protocol: In the event of an "Eligible Data Breach" under the Australian Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) immediately.

7. Access and Correction

Under the APPs, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request that we correct any inaccurate or out-of-date information.

To do so, please contact our Privacy Officer at info@taskgo.com

8. Overseas Data Disclosure

While we prioritize Australian-based servers, some third-party service providers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Stripe, Google Analytics, or Meta) may store data overseas. By using TaskGo, you consent to this transfer, noting that we take steps to ensure these providers adhere to standards similar to the APPs.

9. Retention of Data

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, or reporting requirements (typically 7 years for financial records).

10. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us at info@taskgo.com. We will respond to your complaint within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
